The decisive moment in an auction can pass quickly. A sound decision starts much earlier. ARQANA’s November programme brings horses, business and coastal hospitality together in Deauville, making the catalogue part of the travel plan itself.
Read the schedule before choosing your day
The official ARQANA catalogue lists the Autumn Sale in Deauville from 16 to 19 November 2026. Sessions have different contents: select the relevant day from the catalogue before arranging travel.
Being in town does not establish bidding eligibility or access to every inspection. Ask the auction house about attendance, registration and appointments.
Give Normandy its own time
Avoid planning arrival just before a session you cannot miss. Compare the train to Trouville–Deauville with a private vehicle according to your party, luggage and meeting locations, using current timetables.
Stud visits require prior agreement. These are working establishments, and any visitor arrangements depend on the individual property. Do not build an unconfirmed farm visit into a fixed itinerary.
Look beyond the auction price
Prospective buyers should examine catalogue updates and sale conditions, with independent professional support for assessment where needed. Budget for fees, transport, insurance and ongoing care as well as the purchase itself.
Companions can leave time for coastal walks, restaurants or Honfleur, depending on the weather. These are itinerary ideas: accommodation, tables and attraction opening times still need separate confirmation.
Which day fits your interest?
The official schedule distinguishes the sessions: Tuesday 17 November includes yearlings and other categories, Wednesday focuses on National Hunt yearlings, and Thursday 19 covers breeding stock. Sessions are listed to start at 11am.
One day may be more relevant to your project than the entire sale. Review catalogue updates, withdrawals and additions before departure.
Give companions their own rewarding day
If a companion is not interested in the sale, build an independent coastal or cultural programme and meet for dinner. Les Franciscaines, shown in the article photograph, is one cultural option whose programme and hours should be checked separately.
Keep stud visits and professional meetings distinct from sale sessions. A shared interest does not establish availability: advance appointments make the journey more useful for everyone.
Practical questions before travelling
Does attendance permit bidding?
No. Check ARQANA’s attendance and bidder-registration arrangements.
Are horses a guaranteed investment?
No. Costs and risks require independent assessment; returns are not guaranteed.
For a private itinerary, arrival or transfer, ask OUISTARS about available services and their terms before confirming a booking.
