A strong Alps programme begins with more than a chalet photograph. It depends on knowing who delivers the rooms, transport and experiences, and how they join into a journey the client can actually make. Destination Montagnes therefore deserves attention from agencies developing a French mountain product for winter and beyond.
The dates and the nearer deadline
Atout France announces Destination Montagnes in Grenoble on 19–20 January 2027, with exhibitor registration open until 4 November 2026. Keep that deadline distinct from visitor registration, which has its own process and conditions.
Before committing to a trip or stand, confirm registration category, fees and inclusions directly. Set a clear participation objective and identify the people you need to meet rather than treating attendance as a commercial outcome in itself.
Meet the supplier before selling the programme
An agency needs more than hotel names. It must understand family or couple suitability, late arrivals, luggage handling and the alternative when a central activity is unavailable. A corporate group introduces another set of priorities.
Use a meeting to test a specific brief: nights, room category, season, group size and requirements. A clear request produces a more useful comparison than a general assurance that luxury services are available.
Do not reduce mountain travel to skiing
Ask about walking, food, relaxation, villages and cultural experiences as well as skiing where appropriate. A saleable itinerary states what operates on the chosen dates, rather than listing everything that could theoretically happen in the destination.
Distinguish included activities from options and explain mobility demands, room configuration and transport. Different needs within one group cannot always be answered by issuing everyone the same daily programme.
The final transfer is part of the product
Compare the arrival airport or station and the last journey to the hotel from the beginning. Ask about luggage, sports equipment, child seats, winter preparation where relevant, waiting and amendment terms.
When comparing a provider with hotel transport or a taxi, compare the same items. A price excluding waiting or luggage may not deliver the expected saving. Airport reception remains a distinct, confirmed service rather than an automatic aircraft-door promise.
Give each meeting a useful outcome
Check the Destination Montagnes website for registration and current details. Set an actionable objective: a detailed quotation, a reply date or an operational contact, rather than treating the meeting count alone as success.
Leave time for notes and separate introductory information from commitments needing written confirmation. A discussion is not necessarily an agreement, and an indicative rate is not an offer valid for every date.
Translate the trip into something clients can trust
After the event, assemble an arrival, transfer, stay, activity and departure sequence with a responsible contact for each stage. Test a realistic itinerary before selling it and record amendment, cancellation and communication arrangements.
OUISTARS can be asked about ground services in France according to the company’s brief and availability. A useful local partner explains details and limits before sale, helping the traveller understand how the journey begins and how it ends.
