Paris-CDG Terminal 3 Guide: Low-Cost Flights, Access and Its New 2027 Name

A direct, no-theatre terminal for low-cost and charter traffic; its essential trick is knowing that the rail station is nearby, not inside the building.

The terminal and its story

Terminal 3 is the deliberate opposite of 2E’s scale: one departure hall, essential services and an intelligible route. That simplicity suits fast-turnaround and seasonal airlines, though peak crowds remain visible rather than dispersed through multiple concourses. In 2027 it becomes “Terminal 2”—a change that matters most to travellers who know the old number by heart.

Airlines and flight profile

  • Air Transat
  • ASL Airlines France
  • Norse Atlantic Airways
  • Air Arabia
  • Pegasus Airlines
  • Enter Air
  • Jet2.com
  • Smartwings and charter operators

This is a representative operational list, not a permanent promise. An airline can move an individual flight. The final authority is the flight number on your boarding pass and the airport’s live display on the day.

How to use the terminal without wasting time

With RER B, use Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1/Roissypôle; with CDGVAL, use Roissypôle, then follow the covered pedestrian route to Terminal 3. Do not continue to the Terminal 2 rail station.

Is an airport a mirror of the state?

In this terminal, no one should solicit a tip in a washroom or press you into an unofficial transaction. Order relies on legible signs, cameras, eligible automated gates, trained security staff and border police working both visibly and behind the scenes. Multiple controls are not random: the route changes with origin, destination and Schengen status. We do not publish operational detail that could weaken security; the traveller’s useful test is simpler—calm, intelligible queues, official assistance and no payment outside an authorised channel. Report harassment to information staff or police rather than arguing.

Services that actually matter

Wi‑Fi, reduced-mobility facilities, information points, food and retail are available to varying degrees. Request PRM assistance through the airline preferably at least 48 hours ahead. Do not let shopping erase the time needed to reach a distant gate, and carry an empty bottle to refill after security where facilities permit.

A precise pre-departure checklist

  1. Confirm flight number, terminal and hall in the airline app and the airport’s live tool.
  2. Save an offline screenshot of the boarding pass.
  3. Budget for walking or shuttle time, not only the train or road journey.
  4. Ask official staff when signs and an app appear to conflict.

Frequently asked questions

Does the airline always use this terminal?

Not necessarily. Assignment can change by flight, season and operation; the live flight number is decisive.

How early should I arrive?

Follow the airline’s instruction. International and non-Schengen departures often need more margin for bag drop, border control and security.

Can I walk between terminals?

It depends on the airport, terminal and security zone. Use the route in this guide and the official signs rather than the shortest line on a map.

Sources and verification

Information was checked against official airport, public-authority and airline sources. Operations change; verify again on the day of travel.
