A Paris wedding is not one look. It can be a private dinner in a palace salon, a garden celebration or a ballroom built for hundreds. This guide turns the dream into a practical shortlist—with capacities, questions and planning decisions that matter before you pay a deposit.

Which Paris wedding venue suits you?

Remember: a stage, dance floor, table plan and security reduce capacity. Ask for a layout and written proposal before paying.

1. Ritz Paris — when the address becomes part of the story

Seven private rooms and the Grand Jardin allow couples to move from cocktails to dinner and dancing. The official wedding page lists celebrations up to 250 guests, with a dedicated team supporting room selection, menus, flowers and suppliers.

2. Shangri-La Paris — bring the Eiffel Tower into the frame

The Grand Salon holds about 180 for a reception or 110 for a banquet. Combined historical salons reach roughly 500 reception or 280 banquet. Ask which exact space secures the Eiffel view; being near the landmark is not the same as seeing it from every room.

3. Hôtel de Crillon — luxury at an intimate scale

Salon Marie-Antoinette and Salon des Batailles hold about 40 guests; Salon des Aigles about 60. This is compelling for a refined family dinner where privacy matters more than scale.

4. Four Seasons George V — service as the invisible décor

Ornate rooms, naturally lit salons and coordination across accommodation, cuisine, flowers and event service reduce friction for international guests.

5. The Peninsula Paris — celebration and stay under one roof

The hotel pairs Parisian heritage with contemporary interiors, planning teams, chefs and multiple rooms. Confirm food-and-beverage minimums, room commitments and outside-supplier rules.

6. InterContinental Paris Le Grand — for a theatrical reception

The 450-square-metre Salon Opéra lists up to 600 cocktail guests, around 490 seated without a stage, or 350 with stage and dance floor. Request the realistic wedding capacity for your technical setup.

7. Pavillon Dauphine — a private green setting

Beside the Bois de Boulogne, the venue offers about 900 modular square metres and a 3,000-square-metre garden. Salon Dauphine lists 350 seated / 450 cocktail; Salon Maillot 220 / 300. Ask about the rain plan, garden closing time and late-night transport.

What does a Paris wedding cost?

Luxury venues normally quote individually. Compare the final cost per guest—not the room hire alone. The written proposal should separate food-and-beverage minimums, VAT and service, security, production, furniture, flowers, cake, preparation rooms, overtime and cleaning.

Ten questions before the deposit

  • Real capacity with stage, dance floor and DJ?
  • Is the venue exclusive?
  • What is the rain plan?
  • When must music stop?
  • Is in-house catering mandatory, and are halal, kosher or plant-based menus available?
  • Are outside suppliers allowed and charged?
  • Step-free access and senior comfort?
  • Driver drop-off, parking and post-midnight departures?
  • Cancellation, postponement and insurance terms?
  • Does the price include VAT and service?

Symbolic ceremony or legal marriage?

A hotel ceremony is usually symbolic or private. A legal French civil marriage takes place at the mairie under residency and documentation rules. Check with the relevant town hall or a qualified adviser before treating a venue booking as a legal plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best month for a Paris wedding?

May, June and September are popular. Winter can make interiors and evening light especially dramatic. Choose for the strength of the backup plan, not a weather promise.

Can venues provide halal dining?

Some can, directly or through approved arrangements. Confirm sourcing, preparation and separation requirements in writing.

Do I need a wedding planner?

Not always, but it is highly useful for international guests and multiple suppliers. Clarify who runs the wedding day.
