Fashion Month is changing trains. Milan is already in motion; Paris is preparing to take the final, longest turn. Between 22 September and 6 October 2026, the industry’s centre of gravity moves from Italian precision to Parisian theatre—and the overlap on 28 September makes this season feel less like two separate weeks than one continuous European relay.

Two cities, one fashion current
Milan Fashion Week opened on Tuesday, 22 September, with a calendar that mixed established Italian houses, global labels, presentations and public-facing cultural moments. Paris Fashion Week begins on Monday, 28 September and runs through Tuesday, 6 October. Both calendars are for the Spring/Summer 2027 women’s collections.
The timing matters. Editors, buyers, stylists, models and brand teams are not simply leaving one city and starting again in another. They are carrying conversations, commercial signals and visual ideas across the Alps. Milan tests how luxury can move through product, craft and business. Paris then amplifies the season into spectacle, symbolism and global image-making. That distinction is an editorial reading—not a rule—but it explains why the transfer between the two cities remains one of fashion’s most closely watched journeys.

Milan is already setting the tempo
The official Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana calendar runs from 22 to 28 September. Prada and Diesel appeared on the opening day, which culminated in Vogue World: Milano. The following days place major houses beside emerging names, accessory presentations and industry events.

| 28 September | A digital closing programme including UNI FORM, Nadya Dzyak, Timisola Shasanya, Mastewal Alemu, Maxivive, Banke Kuku and Rechenberg |
These are selected names, not the full programme. Presentations, appointments and parallel events extend well beyond the runway list. The official calendar should remain the final reference because times and formats can change.
Paris prepares for nine days of concentration
Paris opens before Milan has entirely signed off. The first Paris day foregrounds a new-generation line-up—Julie Kegels, Weinsanto, MAXHOSA AFRICA, Hodakova and Matières Fécales—before the calendar accelerates into the houses that command the world’s largest fashion audiences.
On 29 September, Christian Dior, Maison Margiela and Saint Laurent form the spine of the day. On 30 September, Courrèges, The Row, Balmain, Dries Van Noten, Stella McCartney, Acne Studios and Tom Ford crowd an unusually dense schedule. Chloé, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Schiaparelli and Isabel Marant follow on 1 October.

Beyond the front row: the city becomes part of the show
Fashion Week is never confined to invitations. Paris absorbs it through hotel lobbies, private dinners, showrooms, photographers outside venues and a visible shift in the rhythm of the central and western districts. Yet most official runway shows remain invitation-only, and many locations are disclosed only to guests. Travellers should not build plans around entering a show without confirmed access.
The official SPHERE showroom adds another layer at the Palais de Tokyo from 30 September to 6 October. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode lists ACT N°1, Maison J. Simone, Matho, Meruert Tolegen, Riz Poli, Sevali, Vautrait, Victoria Valette and Weinsanto among the selected labels. It is a reminder that Paris Fashion Week is not only a parade of global houses; it is also an infrastructure for discovering the next ones.
Practical note for visitors
- Allow more travel time around show hours; exact venues can be announced late and chauffeur demand rises sharply.
- Use the official calendars, not reposted social graphics, for final timings.
- Expect many shows to be invitation-only, but check the official calendar for livestream or digital availability.
- If travelling between Milan and Paris on 27–29 September, book rail or air connections and airport transfers early.

What this season is really testing
The SS27 calendar is not merely asking what women will wear next summer. It is testing how heritage houses behave under constant global scrutiny, how new designers earn attention inside overloaded schedules, and whether physical spectacle can still create a moment that survives beyond the first social-media clip.
Milan’s answer arrives through the discipline of product and house identity. Paris will answer through scale, authorship and the power of the image. On 28 September, those two arguments briefly occupy the same day. That is the hinge of this Fashion Month—and the reason the journey from Italy to France is the story, not just the route.
