Terminal 2B returned after a ground-up renovation and gained a new link to 2D. This guide explains its changing airline mix, the correct arrival route and what becoming Terminal 4 in 2027 really means.

An old terminal with a new operating idea

Terminal 2B belonged to the early generation of Terminal 2 buildings. After three decades, the task was no longer cosmetic: the passenger journey needed rebuilding. It closed in April 2013 for a complete overhaul of systems, spaces and services. The renovated terminal and its link to 2D entered service in June 2021.

The clever move was not merely making 2B look newer; it was enabling 2B and 2D to work as a connected pair. The junction reduces the break between them, adds clearer commercial and service space, and anticipates the combined identity arriving in 2027.

Airlines: why we do not publish a “final list”

Assignments at 2B move with seasons, individual flights and operational pressure. Airlines appearing in current guides or using it for selected services include:

Representative examples Network What to do
Royal Air Maroc, Finnair Regional, European or international depending on route Verify the flight number on the day.
JetBlue, Norwegian, Air Transat Transatlantic or European, sometimes seasonal Operating days and terminal can change.
airBaltic, Air Montenegro, EL AL, Royal Jordanian European and Eastern Mediterranean routes The airline name alone is not enough.
Our editorial rule: an old terminal list is never treated as permanent fact. Your boarding pass, carrier app and Paris Aéroport live tool are definitive. One airline may use two terminals on the same day.

How to reach 2B

From Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV station—which serves RER B and TGV—follow Terminal 2B signs through the pedestrian galleries. If you are already in the Terminal 2 complex, do not take CDGVAL unnecessarily; it is mainly useful for Terminal 1 or Roissypôle/Terminal 3.

By car, taxi or chauffeur, specify “2B”, not merely “Terminal 2”. The complex is vast and has several drop-off areas. If the live screen says 2D, do not assume an error: the buildings are connected, but each flight retains a specific check-in point and gate.

The 2B–2D link and connections

The connector makes landside movement easier but does not cancel border or security rules. The transfer route depends on whether arrival is from Schengen and whether baggage is checked through. Follow Connections signs and airline instructions. Do not estimate a connection from map distance alone; queues and passport control may be the larger factor.

Services that matter

Check-in and bag drop, Wi‑Fi, food, shops, information points, family facilities and reduced-mobility assistance are available, with opening times varying by zone. Book PRM support with the airline 48 hours ahead where possible. For lounges, check carrier or membership eligibility; the eligible lounge may be elsewhere in Terminal 2.

An orderly airport is not an unguarded airport

Mature security is rarely the loudest. Cameras, automated systems, risk assessment and teams working quietly complement visible screening and border posts. Never tip for tissues or washroom entry, and never pay someone claiming to “speed up” a queue outside an official channel. Step away from confrontation and contact police or airport staff. This guide stays useful without exposing sensitive operating details.

From 2B to Terminal 4 in 2027

On 16 March 2027, 2B and 2D become Terminal 4 together. This is a naming simplification, not a relocation. During the transition, old and new names may coexist in bookings and guides, so always match the date and flight number.

Before-arrival checklist

  1. Check the terminal by flight number, not airline alone.
  2. Use CDG 2 TGV station for the Terminal 2 complex.
  3. Give “2B” as the precise drop-off destination.
  4. Allow for passport control and security on international connections.
  5. After March 2027, also look for the name Terminal 4.

Frequently asked questions

Are 2B and 2D one building?

They are distinct sections joined by a connector. In 2027 they share the name Terminal 4.

Can I walk from the TGV/RER station?

Yes. Follow the signed pedestrian route to 2B and allow walking time.

Is the airline list fixed?

No. Assignments change by flight and season; live checking is essential.

The editorial desk checked the history, maps and announced name change against official sources. Airline and gate assignments remain operational and changeable; live verification on the day of travel always prevails.
