Editorial finance guide · Paris · 2026–2030
Most weddings begin as a beautiful image. A successful one begins with an honest spreadsheet. In Paris, a modest headline quote can expand through VAT, service, production and overtime. This guide separates national data, editorial planning ranges and contractual prices.
Format
| Format | Editorial planning envelope | Main decision |
| 30 guests | €20,000–€45,000 | intimate venue and experience |
| 80 guests | €45,000–€100,000 | reception and production balance |
| 150 guests | €85,000–€180,000+ | capacity, security and transport |
A French average is not a Paris quote
Mariages.net’s 2026 report gives a French average of €19,293—about €215 per guest—based on 1,304 couples married in 2025. It is a national benchmark, not a Paris palace price. Date, exclusivity, location and service level can move the figure sharply.
How the three scenarios work
The ranges are editorial planning models, not supplier quotes. They combine venue, food, drink, photo, film, flowers, music, attire, transport and a 10–15% contingency. Fixed costs explain why 30 guests do not cost exactly one third of 90.

The charges couples forget
VAT, service, catering minimums, security, power, lighting, stage, cleaning, preparation room, corkage, external-supplier fees, driver parking and overtime should all appear in writing.
Spend for experience, not spectacle
At 30 guests, prioritize dining, photography and an intimate room. At 80, cap flowers and production early. At 150, design guest flow, security and shuttles before décor. Smooth movement feels more luxurious than an expensive room run badly.
Compare quotes like research
Normalize each proposal into fixed cost, per-person cost, taxes, inclusions, exclusions, cancellation and risk. Add a +10% guest scenario. Only then are you comparing like with like.

Frequently asked questions
Is €20,000 enough?
It can fund a thoughtful intimate wedding, but not automatically a palace or major production.
When can prices be lower?
Winter and selected weekdays may offer flexibility, subject to written quotes.
What causes overruns?
Late additions to guest count and options, plus overlooked tax and overtime.
