Updated 20 October 2026
Orient Express Olympian is scheduled to begin its first journeys in summer 2027, according to the brand’s current FAQ. Its first block was laid at Saint-Nazaire on 19 November 2025—a construction milestone distinct from delivery or passenger service. The second yacht expands the Orient Express fleet and gives affluent travellers and corporate hosts specific questions about the vessel, departure and service being booked.

SolidSail: what the technology does and does not establish
The construction release describes a 220-metre vessel with three masts and 4,500 square metres of sail area. Wind propulsion depends on conditions, with a hybrid operating option. Dynamic positioning is also described as a means of holding position without anchoring in sensitive locations. See the construction announcement.
These are announced design capabilities, not measured emissions from an Olympian passenger voyage or evidence that every sailing will be engine-free. Our editorial distinction is between wind-dependent technical potential and environmental performance requiring operational data. A vessel specification alone cannot guarantee a particular passenger a number of hours under sail.
Families: a pool does not determine voyage eligibility
The official FAQ identifies designated Family Voyages for children aged six months to sixteen sharing a suite with an adult, with additional arrangements for children under two. A family pool should therefore not be interpreted as permission for children on every departure. The selected voyage and approved offer govern eligibility. Check the family-voyage FAQ.
This affects a family decision before suite comparisons: departure suitability, childcare arrangements and available accompanying services. Booking early does not resolve these questions by itself. Nor does a photograph of a sister vessel verify Olympian’s completed interior.
For corporate hosts: what can be evaluated before a contract?
A business gathering at sea depends on the fit between guest numbers, space, connectivity and contingency planning if a port changes, with one coordinator responsible for the group. Compare suites on a shared voyage separately from a private booking: programme control, privacy and cost can differ. These are editorial comparison criteria, not confirmation of charter availability.
Before budgeting an occasion, the decision-maker needs a named vessel and departure, confirmed services and clear payment and delivery milestones. A fleet announcement broadens the future choice; it does not establish a tested product or a final programme available on every date.
Which vessel are you booking?
The brand calls the vessels sisters and describes a family pool on Olympian’s Deck 7 in place of Corinthian’s swimming corridor. A quotation should identify the actual vessel. A photograph of a sister ship can explain the concept but does not document every final feature of the future ship.
Ask about suite category, location, outdoor space, privacy and access. For families, confirm whether the specific departure accepts the children’s ages; family facilities alone do not establish eligibility on every voyage.
Treat routes as departure-specific
The brand discusses a 2027 fleet expansion into Northern Europe, including Scandinavia, Brittany and the Thames. This is not proof that every route is assigned to Olympian or available for booking. Obtain a dated sailing programme naming the vessel before committing to flights and hotels.
Confirm embarkation and disembarkation points, timings and port-change terms. An itinerary tailored for a private group differs from reserving suites on a scheduled voyage; the quotation should make that distinction clear.
Before paying a deposit
Request a written inclusion list covering accommodation, meals, transfers, experiences and chargeable extras. A broad inclusive description does not establish that every treatment, private menu or shore activity is covered. Match the actual booking terms to the guests’ requirements.
Review payments, cancellation, guest substitution and the provisions applying if launch timing changes. Asking this is prudent planning for a future product, not a prediction of a delay. We report no live fare or availability for an unverified departure.
Company groups and private occasions
Start with guest count, privacy needs and purpose. Board meetings, incentive travel and family celebrations call for different arrangements. Ask about dedicated rooms, confidentiality, connectivity, presentation facilities and restrictions related to ports or the sailing programme.
A multi-suite group booking and a whole-vessel charter require different contracts. We do not assume either is available on a particular date, quote unverified prices or imply a magazine partnership with the operator.
What to monitor next
Our positive editorial scenario is a broader choice of sea journeys combining hospitality, culture and private programming. A cautious scenario leaves demand highly dependent on itinerary, price and cancellation terms despite the brand’s appeal. We have no basis to forecast occupancy or profits.
The next verifiable milestones are final schedules, actual delivery, first passenger journeys and documented guest experience. Renderings and older construction announcements should never be presented as proof of current passenger operations.
Reader questions
Is Olympian carrying passengers now?
The official FAQ places first journeys in summer 2027; we do not describe it as operating now.
Is Corinthian the same ship?
No. Sister-ship photographs must identify the vessel actually shown.
Are live fares or charters confirmed here?
No. Obtain a departure-specific written quotation.
